Challenges:
Legacy Finance system with no controls or workflow
High Volume of Intercompany transactions and other Many repetitive tasks
4,000+ Sales Orders per day and predominantly hand-written LPO’s from Customers
Barakat has 3 types of suppliers and no procurement system. They procure global and local suppliers plus fruit and veg markets.
No WMS, Manufacturing support or demand planning.
Unprecise, fragmented and slow reporting
Approach:
Partially Agile implementation.
Worked on Processes, target operating model,, controls and reporting.
Project aimed at decomplicating and supporting processes through automations, templating and AI.
Much effort was placed on training and upskilling since the organisation was not used to a system supporting their operations.
Solution:
Barakat got first version of a solution that covered all aspects of their business: Finance, Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse Management and Manufacturing.
Additionally, their e-commerce portal was integrated and creating Sales Orders from LPO’s was fitted with a Machine Learning component that automated most of the manual work.
Result:
After Go-Live Barakat and Pingala did an intense joint effort to fix issues and stabilize business and system specifically in the trading section of the business.
The issues was due to some configurations, but mainly due to change management and one specific process bottleneck.
Manufacturing went live very successfully with no issues one month later.
Barakat has since successfully build an internal team that is continuously expanding the solution.
